While it is common practice for the government to table every expenditure in the Parliament, this need not be the case when issuing the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package to weather the impact of Covid-19. Entrepreneur Development and Co-operatives minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the government could proceed with the RM250 billion package without it being tabled in Parliament as Covid-19 is an emergency situation to be dealt with.

He also said there was one more death from Covid-19 this morning. The death toll in Malaysia from the virus now stands at 27. He added 61 people had been discharged and allowed to return home this morning, bringing the total number of those discharged after treatment to 320.
